Clinical Trials of Digital Health Technologies Online Training Resource
This training material was created to support clinical trial professionals in planning and conducting clinical trials of Digital Health Technologies (DHT). It is intended for research professionals in the UK to provide training on regulatory, ethical, and practical aspects of DHT trial management.
This course fills gaps identified through an international survey conducted to understand the needs of clinical trial professionals. Via a user-centred design approach, we aimed to create a resource that directly responds to user needs and practical challenges in the field. By listening to professionals, we ensured the training is relevant and actionable, making it easier to navigate the complexities of DHT trials.
This training has been developed in collaboration with clinical trial professionals from the Christie NHS Trust’s Experimental Cancer Medicine Team and the University of Manchester e-Learning Team.
The training is freely available on the NIHR Learn platform. To further enhance accessibility and support, an AI-powered chatbot—developed using OpenAI—will soon be available to assist learners throughout the course.
